How did the actors start?

January 29, 2015 by Directing Actors:

Hi guys-

I am a director myself (my last film was shown at the Cannes Film Festival in 2014 as the only German contribution and the previous one at well over 100 festivals worldwide / e.g. Berlinale, New York, Palm Springs ...)

Don't want to profile me. Just a few facts for everyone to listen

On the subject: I know a lot of very talented actors who went to a 'good' drama school. But I only know a few actors who got a job after school.

The reason for this is not the lack of talent, but the lack of a showreel.
We directors (those who ultimately cast or cast the actors) don't care about acting training. Often it even bothers you because many actors are natural, but rather "act".

Directors, and I'm not the only one speaking from experience, are ONLY interested in THE SHOWREEL. If the showreel is good, I will contact the actor. If the showreel is bad, I click away immediately. No matter where the actor learned his trade.

I don't mean to say that all drama schools are bad. But I dare say that some out there can do without such a school. IF you have a good showreel.

My friends (also directors / also award-winning worldwide / among other things, student Oscar ...) & I offer such show reels.

We write, stage and cut show reels that you definitely won't click away. It might sound arrogant, but it doesn't matter: only when good directors direct you will something good come out of it.

You either have to search for a long time and hang around on short film shoots or come to us straight away

There is always a personal pre-selection interview and when we see talent, we start. We promise very good material and if you don't like it, you don't have to pay anything.

At the same time, we hope for a long-term cooperation and are also founding an agency for lending ...

It may all sound a little like advertising, it is a little too. But no blah ads and no blah promises. We're just sick of watching actors go through so much and end up with nothing.

And we're fed up with watching extremely talented directors film commercials after leaving film school to survive. So we bring good directors and good actors together and hopefully the film world will be good at some point
