Kabir
Operating
--16.1.1946
The 1.96 meter tall Kabir Bedi is an exceptional figure in Indian cinema. And not only there: after he worked his way up to the smart leading man of Bollywood cinema after modeling jobs, TV shows and series appearances in the 1970s, he landed hits in Italy in the middle of the decade. He came to fame primarily as Sandokan. This was followed by appearances in well-known US series such as "Denver Clan" and "General Hospital", before he landed another coup in 1983 and was seen as the villain in the Bond flick "Octopussy". During all this time he has remained loyal to Bollywood. In the new millennium he devoted himself particularly to the Indian film industry and has already appeared in a number of high-profile works, namely the Shahrukh hit Main Hoon Na.

Angry
--27.7.1967
The Bengali Rahul Bose, who grew up in Calcutta and now lives in Mumbai, established himself as an actor in three areas: in art cinema, in Bengali cinema and as a Bollywood star. As if that wasn't exciting enough, Bose played for India's national rugby team from 1998-2005. Perhaps his greatest success was with Mr. and Mrs. Iyer, who won several international awards. A year earlier he had already performed with "Everybody Says I'm Fine!" also his directorial debut.

Mithun
Chakraborty
--June 25, 1947 or
16.6.1950
The Chakrabortys are members of the Bengali Brahmin class. Despite this high social position, the young Mithun joined the Naxalites, the Maoist rebels. After his departure, he established himself in film and has made over 300 Bollywood films to date, as well as a few roles in Bengali cinema and other regional industries. The big breakthrough was in Disco Dancer, which made him a star and earned him the reputation of a top dancer. Mithun later devoted himself to action cinema before his films began to flop in the 90s. In the middle of the first decade of the 2000s he moved back to supporting roles and thus managed a small comeback - also an artistic one, as evidenced by the nominations for guru. Meanwhile his son Mimoh made his cinema debut, but his film Jimmy flopped.

Abhay
Deol
--15.3.1976
The nephew of old star Dharmendra and cousin of stars Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol did not come to Bollywood through family connections, but through the theater. His debut was nonetheless produced by Uncle Dharmendra and was a moderate success. In such a way that Abhay became the most sought-after star in independent circles: Unlike his cousins, who were completely mainstream, Abhay took on the leading roles in small and often courageous productions. With astonishing success. His greatest successes include the ensemble comedy Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. and the experimental Dev.D, for which Deol also provided the story idea.

Ritesh
Deshmukh
--1978
I have to admit, after seeing him for the first time in Out of Control, I never thought that Ritesh Deshmukh would ever become a star. His rather rolled eyes and the oversized head are certainly not classic ideals of beauty. But he prevailed - in demanding supporting roles and in comedies. Today he is one of the most promising young stars in Bollywood. Ritesh, who was trained at the Lee Strasberg Institute, does not come from an actor family - but from an influential clan: his father Vilasrao Dadoji Deshmukh of the Congress Party is the Chief Minister of the Indian state of Maharashtra (term of office: 1999 - January 2003 and October 2004 - October 2009).

Emran
Hashmi
Emraan Hashmi-24.3.1979
Emran Hashmi will probably go down in Bollywood history as the man who is allowed to give a French kiss in every film. His career shifted up a gear with the success of the erotic thriller Murder, which also shot his then partner Mallika Sherawat into star heaven. Hahsmi owes this rise above all to the Bhatt family, who repeatedly cast him in leading roles in erotically charged works. The downside: he had long been subscribed to sizzling thrillers and the audience really expected lip contact. In the meantime he differentiates his roles, probably also because he has been married since 2006.

Randeep
Hooda
--20.8.1976
The son of a surgeon and a politician from the Hindu party BJP comes from the state of Haryana, but studied in Australia. His foreign accent earned him his debut role in Mira Nair's Monsoon Wedding. The breakthrough as a lead actor didn't come until four years later when Ram Gopal Varma cast him in D. From then on, Hooda was hired primarily for gangster films, but also tried comedies and romances - always with rather mediocre success. Rather, he got the most attention from a private cause: He was in a relationship with superstar Sushmita Sen from 2005-2006.

--2.12.1959
Today Bollywood fans are so used to seeing Boman Irani that you quickly forget that he has only really been in the business since 2003: Irani, born in Mumbai in 1959 (other sources talk about 1956) began his career as a photographer and switched to the 80s -Years on the stage. He didn't really make an appearance in the cinema until 2003 - with his praised performance in Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. He is one of the greatest among India's independent actors: Rajat Kapoor, born in 1961. He belongs to the circle of independent stars around Vinay Pathak, Saurabh Shukla, Ranvir Shorey, Konkona Sen Sharma, Koena Mirtra, Vijay Raaz & Co., who are in demand on theatrical stages as well as in film roles. He also takes turns with one or more of this clique but just as often appears in supporting roles in larger productions. He also works as a director and producer - and it's easy to forget that despite this remarkable résumé, he has only been splashing around in Bollywood's shark tank since 2001.

Ranbir
Kapoor
--28.9.1982
As the son of Rishi Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor had it easier than other Indians with film ambitions to get into the acting business - after all, the Kapoor clan in Bollywood is the royal dynasty. The only obstacle was his appearance with an unfavorably large nose. But the young Kapoor worked hard, trained his body and made a solid debut in Saawariya. After just a few films, he is already being traded as one of the big stars and had lovers like Deepika Padukone by his side. Nose or not, after all, it hasn't exactly harmed another star.

Shahid
Kapoor
--25.2.1981
Shahid Kapoor was a dancer in Taal before making his acting debut in Bollywood and quickly becoming the hottest contender for the young star throne. His debut Ishq Vishk made a solid box office; the attractive young man's game was compared to that of Shahrukh Khan. He was soon covered with job offers. As a lover of Kareena Kapoor, who was dating until October 2007, he adorned the gossip papers. And films like Vivah and Jab We Met made him a superstar. His father, the respected actor Pankaj Kapur (Dus), is Hindu. However, since Shahid grew up primarily with his mother, a Muslim, he also follows Islam.

Imraan Khan-13.1.1983
Imran Khan was born with show business: his grandfather was director & producer Nasir Hussain, his uncles are director Mansoor Khan and superstar Aamir Khan. So it was only logical that he was allowed to breathe Bollywood air as a five-year-old - in Aamir's breakthrough film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. However, he did not make his official debut until he was 25 in the youth film Jaane Tu ... Ya Jaane Na, produced by Aamir and Mansoor. It promptly became a surprise hit and made Imran Khan a new up-and-coming star in Bollywood in one fell swoop.

Irrfan; Irrfan Khan-7.1.1967
(other sources: 1962)
Sahabzade Irrfan Ali Khan, as his full name is called, was born in Jaipur in 1962. He started his career in TV series and found himself in minor supporting roles. His brief appearance in Salaam Bombay was almost completely cut out. A small breakthrough came with the lead role in the British-Indian production The Warrior. After that, he was primarily cast for roles as gangster and cop. He proved his talent in these character roles with such regularity that even Hollywood noticed him and he got a part in almost all western productions that are supposed to be set in India or Pakistan: alongside Angelina Jolie in "A Mighty Heart", in Wes Anderson's "Darjeeling Limited", in Mira Nair's "The Namesake" and the award-winning "Slumdog Millionaire".

To speak of a star is probably a bit of an exaggeration for Sahil Khan - but his luxury body has graced many magazines. Not just because of the biceps, but because of his relationship with model Negar Khan. They married in September 2004, but a few months later she was deported to her homeland, Norway, because apparently the papers were not in order. The distance killed the relationship and the Khans broke up in August 05 with a loud roar. She accused him of having caught him having sex with a young man, he accused her of being publicity horny after a "nipplegate" in Norway. Now a celebrity star, Sahil Khan is more in demand than ever. His debut in Style was well received, in Double Cross: Ek Dhoka he bravely played a callboy who was forced to do this slippery job by his wife. He hopes for the big breakthrough with the self-produced adventure film "Ramaa: The Savior", which should be released in 2009.
