What is your rating of Darmstadt

Reviews can be entered in different places in Moodle. Where you enter reviews depends on what exactly you want to evaluate. The different options are explained below.

Evaluation settings

For example, when you create a task, you have the option of making some settings that affect the evaluation of the submission.

First you can choose the type of evaluation, in most cases the evaluation according to points is sufficient, the maximum number of points that can be achieved for this task is indicated directly below.

In the Valuation method you can choose between simple direct valuation and two advanced valuation types.

Next, if created, you can create a Assessment category select for this task.

Assessment for passing sets the minimum required grade for passing. The value is used when completing the activity and the course; in addition, a pass is marked in green and a failure in red in your evaluation overview.

There is also the option of anonymizing the participant's identity during the assessment.

The last two points concern the number of evaluation runs; If activated, several steps will go through for evaluations before participants see them. This means that several evaluation runs can take place before all evaluations are made visible to the participants at the same time.

Reviews can be entered in different places. Each job has its own advantages and disadvantages. If, for example, you enter ratings for a task directly on the evaluation page of the task, then this has the advantage that the students receive an automatic notification of your evaluation. However, this notification does not take place if you enter the assessment of the task in the assessment overview of the course or in the individual assessment view.

In addition, individual users can be assigned to the reviewers.

In the following, we will go into more detail about the evaluation directly on the evaluation page of a task; the evaluation in your evaluation overview is analogous with a few small exceptions.

To do this, click on the task to be assessed, the following window will open for you:

Here you can see the current number of course participants from whom evaluations are expected, the number of those submitted and the number of submissions that have not yet been assessed.

In addition, the due date, if set, will be displayed.

If you now click on "Show all donations “Clicking the window opens the evaluation overview window for this specific task.

There you should first scroll down to the following options:

If you are at "Notify participants“ „Yes“, The students will receive an email notification as soon as their submission has been rated.

Via the dropdown menu "With selection ...“You have the option of blocking / releasing selected submissions, extending the submission period individually or sending a feedback file.

Under the Options you can set how many tasks are shown to you per page and filter them e.g. according to expected ratings.

This is useful when you're expecting a lot of reviews to keep track of things.

The "Quick assessment“Enables you to make evaluations directly in the overview table. This option is not available for extended ratings (rubrics).

If you have now filtered your table, only the evaluations to be expected will be displayed.

You will now see the students to be evaluated (last name, first name, email address), the current status of the task, if you have the option to enter the evaluation directly in the window (quick evaluation), an edit drop-down menu to block the submission or the To extend the submission period, the date of the last change, the submitted file, the option to leave a submission comment, the date of the last change to the rating, a window to submit feedback as a comment, if a PDF was submitted a file with the comments in it, the uploaded feedback files and their final rating.

Under "rating"In this example, you can now enter the number of points you have achieved directly and confirm it with" Enter ". Alternatively, you can click on the small pen above the evaluation field.

The individual evaluation window then opens, in which you can also assign the evaluation, feedback, comments, etc.
