An own goal in a game, a delay in training or forgetting your training gear: many sports teams have a catalog of penalties that the cashier has to laboriously keep track of. Online banking for the entire team

How did you come up with the idea of starting your own company?
We had problems with the team funds in all of our previous clubs and have always wanted to be our own boss. The way to my own startup was quickly paved.

Tell us in a few sentences what your app is about and what is special about your startup.
Our app regulates the internal finances of each team. Each player can see the liabilities of the other players and can pay their own directly into the cash register via online payments. Our startup is special because we are the only team fund with real payments. In addition, we equip our teams and all other interested athletes with individualized sports products.

Biting through: You have to do your studies and founding a company

Did you drop out of your studies to set up the company or did you start the company parallel to your studies or after completing your studies?
The company was founded almost 5 years after our studies. You have to earn the necessary start-up capital hard first!

Did the content of your studies help you with the start-up or even gave you the idea of starting a business?
During your studies you learn to bite your way through. You need this ability as a founder as well.

How did you come up with the idea to take part in "Die Höhle der Löwen" and what positive consequences did it have?
Team sports are very common in Germany and that makes us a product for the masses. We were also looking for marketing support. The attention from the show was very helpful.

How is the idea received by the football clubs?
The idea is well received and we look forward to new teams every day.

Beer, beer, beer!

Beers from all over the world, a brave month during which a beer can be tasted for free, right up to beer seminars: the name of the Bierothek says it all. The founder of the Bierothek Christian Klemenz gives us exciting insights into the world of beer.

Beer? Yes, but please with diversity!

Hello Christian, introduce yourself briefly!

I am 30 years old and have Business administration at the Munich Business School, the HHL Leipzig as well as at Tsinghua University in Beijing and at IIM Ahmedabad in India.

How did you come up with the idea of starting your own business?
I was already interested in the topic of founding during my studies, which is why I launched the Munich Venture Summit and did internships at Holtzbrinck Ventures and in Silicon Valley during my studies. My first company, St. ERHARD GmbH, was founded during my semester abroad in India. The beer library was then also developed from the company's own St. ERHARD beer brand.

Tell us in a few sentences what is special about the Bierothek.
The Bierothek is a new kind of retail concept for beer specialties. We currently sell over 500 different beers from all over the world in stationary stores in nine cities, online and in wholesalers. We are now the market leader in Germany and have newly created the specialist beer retailer trade category.

Smooth transition from studying to start-up company

Did you drop out of your studies to start the company or did you start the company parallel to your studies or after completing your studies?

The transition from studying to entrepreneurship was fluid for me. I had already finished all the lectures and exams when it was founded, but I still had to write my master’s thesis and was still formally a student, which was very helpful in the first phase of the foundation because I still had student status. HHL was very helpful to me and supported my founding very much in this way.

Did the content of your studies help you with the start-up or even gave you the idea of starting a business?
In order to gain a basic understanding of economics, a degree in business administration is certainly helpful, but in retrospect it is less the concrete content that has helped you, but rather the contacts and the mindset that you have been taught.

What tips would you give young founders?
Make it easy. Especially shortly after or even during your studies is the best time to try things out and start a company. Never again are the opportunity costs so low and the height of fall so low.
